Biography

As co-owner and Head Instructor of Batting 1.000 Baseball & Softball Academy, “Coach Mike” uses the lessons learned during his playing and coaching career to help instill the physical, mental and emotional fundamentals to Long Island’s ball players, coaches and Batting 1.000’s Academy Instructors. Mike attended the University of Maine where he received his degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a minor in Business Management. While at U Maine, “Coach Mike” helped the Black Bears reach two NCAA Regional tournaments. Mike was a starting middle infielder all four years and earned the title captain his senior year, all through hard work, discipline and leadership, on and off the field.

After graduation, Mike continued to remain connected to the game he loved, becoming an Assistant Coach at UMaine before returning home to Long Island in 2006, where he was an All Long Island Shortstop at Kellenberg High School and Empire State Gold Medalist in 2000. After serving as a Manager and Head Instructor of a local baseball franchise in the area, Mike made his lifelong goal of owning and operating a baseball and softball training facility a reality when he opened Batting 1.000 in 2007. His philosophies are created through research from some of the best coaches in the game and from his own personal experience. This invaluable insight to the game is passed on through each instructor to all players who train at Batting 1.000 in a serious yet positive atmosphere. At Batting 1.000, we’re committed to excellence and passionate about the game we love . We welcome you to Batting 1.000.
